Last weekend I went to the theater twice: once in London and once in Modena. Of the first show, which I loved the most, I don’t have decent photos but splendid memories.

My colleague Maddalena and I saw Much Ado About Nothing in a West End production that felt like a rave, with disco music, audience members drinking, actors dancing and not taking themselves too seriously.

On the subway, we had chatted with an American woman in her forties who is pursuing a Master’s degree in theater direction right in London (I love these serendipitous moments), and we had told her: we organized this somewhat crazy day trip because we needed a pick-me-up. “Oh, you did absolutely the right thing, you’ll definitely get that”

In London the air was freezing, but there was also warm sunshine, there was the St. Patrick’s Parade and a pro-Palestine demonstration. We had coffee at a Lavazza store and dinner with fish & chips at the airport.

I’m not saying I would do it again. I will do it again.
